Welcome to the Department of Oncological Sciences of University of Torino at the main campus of Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment.
Although a long tradition in cancer research and cure in the University of Torino, the Department of Oncological Sciences was established only in 2002 and is the youngest Department of our University. By creating this Department , the Rector’s goal has been to integrate some of the efforts of the University in an exciting perspective, in which basic science and practical clinic cooperate at the bed of oncological patient .
We are a community of about 15 faculty, 40 graduate students and 80 postdoctoral fellows actively engaged in innovative research, discovery and training in modern biology and advanced medicine. The research in the department covers a wide range of topics with special emphasis on:

• Cell Biology
• Genetics
• Immunology
• Oncogenomics
• Cell Therapy
• Clinical Trials

We also offer lecture and laboratory courses for undergraduates as well as numerous research opportunities for visiting scholars and summer students. The Department of Oncological Sciences provides graduate students with
a sophisticated and rigorous program in a multi-disciplinary environment, enabling them to become creative, independent and productive researchers.
To facilitate this goal, the department offers different interdisciplinary PhD programs:

• Ph.D Programme in complexity in Post-Genomics Biology
• Ph.D Programme in Cell Sciences and Technologies
• PhD in Human Oncology
