The Molecular Angiogenesis Division at the Institute for Cancer Research
of the University of Torino Medical School
is offering a 3 years position at the post-doctoral level. Salary will be defined
on the basis of previous experience
The Division is focused on the in vitro and in vivo biological activities, mechanisms
of action and signal transduction
pathways of different angiogenic mediators including Vascular Endothelial Growth
Factor, Angiopoietins and
Semaphorins. In particular we are interested to study the role of semahorins
in determining the vascular tree trajectories
and the influence of transmembrane proteins in the activity and specificity of
VEGF receptor-2 and Tie-2, the
angiopoietin receptor.
The Laboratory profits from research collaborations with leader scientists
in the Vascular Biology field around the
world. Best candidates are motivated and enthusiastic workers with a Ph.D.
in Molecular Biology or similar degree.
Prior experience in molecular biology, mammalian cells culture and basic protein
chemistry is required. The IRCC is
a private, non-profit basic and clinical research institute affiliated with
the University of Torino School of
Medicine. It hosts one of the Harvard-Armenise Foundation Centers For Advanced
Scientific Research. It fosters an
interdisciplinary team of established investigators working at the interface
of molecular biology and medicine.
